Liverpool captain, Virgil Van Dijk, called on his teammates and fans to make Anfield a “horrible” place to visit the teams while the Reds seek to see the title race of the Premier League.
Following the defeat of the Arsenal and Liverpool weekend winning very well against Manchester City at the Etihad stadium, the Arne Slot team holds an 11-point lead on the Gunners.
Arsenal has a match in hand but fights against the injuries of key attackers and many have already decided that the Gulf was sufficient to label Liverpool preventively as champions.
Anfield’s speech is, of course, that complacency cannot be allowed to adapt. There are 11 Premier League games left, the majority of whom will be in Anfield. For Van Dijk, this is a significant advantage for the team looking for a second league title in six seasons.
“He’s a human [reaction] That there could be anxious feelings when entering, and this could still be the case, “he told journalists following Sunday.” But I think it helps and help us and we [the fans] Also to make Anfield horrible for the opponent. Most of the time, we did this, and obviously the way we play also helps this.
“How many home matches left? Seven out of 11. Make sure these seven will be incredible, as noisy as possible. I don’t think we have to talk about it because this is normally the case.”
Van Dijk helped Liverpool to the drought of the 2019/20 Premier League title, one of the eight surviving players of this season’s team. The Dutchman also won two championship cups, the FA Cup and the Champions League, but a potential era of domination was canceled by Manchester City.
Twice in recent seasons, Liverpool has exceeded 90 points in the Premier League, the counts which would normally be equivalent to being presented to the trophy, to finish still second.
For Van Dijk, it could even be a swan swan, excluding contracts at the end of the season without any clear direction with regard to its future and Real Madrid linked to an opportunistic transfer.
