Vinicius Junior admitted that the banner of Manchester City fans were narrowing him about his Snub Ballon d’Or inspired him during the Dramatic 3-2 victory of Real Madrid during the margin match of the Champions League on Tuesday.
Before the game, the city supporters got rid of a banner intended for Vinicius with the message “Stop crying your heart”, alongside an image of Rodri kissing the Ballon d’Or trophy, many thought that the Brazilian was going win at the end of last year.
Vinicius was hue and mocked by the city fans throughout the match, but had the last laugh because he played a decisive role in setting up the two late goals of Madrid on the way to a huge return victory 3-2.
Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois suggested after the match that Vinicius may not even have noticed the banner because “he doesn’t speak English”, but the winger himself confirmed not only he had seen the message , but he used it to feed his performance.
“I saw the banner of Man City fans,” said the 24 -year -old. “It motivated me even more. Whenever rival fans do things, it gives me more strength to play a big game.”
Manager Carlo Ancelotti also admitted that he seemed that Vinicius had an additional level of motivation behind his performance, telling journalists after the match: “Watching his game may have been a motivation for him.
“It has always been very dangerous.”
The match at the Etihad stadium was decided by the late winner of Jude Bellingham, offered to him on a plate of Vinicius after Real Madrid jumped on a disease defense of the local team just a few minutes after the error of blow Ederson’s foot allowed Brahim Diaz to level the scores.
