Tottenham Hotspur welcomes European hopes of Bournemouth in the Premier League Sunday after falling flat in Alkmaar on Thursday evening.
The Spurs had eight days to prepare for the first of the two extremely significant games against the Dutch team AZ, but they barely left first speed during the first stage of their draw in the Europa League and had the chance to lose only 1-0.
Given that they left the two national cups and ready for half the lower league, the future postcoglou angel is based on the progression of spurs in Europe. They have a lot of work to do in the second stage next week.
Bournemouth hopes to take advantage of their first taste for European football next season, and they are currently well placed to make a strong push. Their form has been wavering lately after an excellent January, but they are currently seated seventh in the Premier League after having progressed in the quarter -finals of the FA Cup last week. The race for Europe will not be fierce in the last ten games of the season, but the improved coefficient of the division means that the first seven are likely to obtain a tranche of the continental pie in 2025/26.
Residing in 13th, the Spurs are ten points less good than the visitors on Sunday, who also beat them 1-0 in the reverse match in early December.

Dominic Solanke returned after a six -week injury layoff on Thursday, but then injured his lower back in a collision with the goalkeeper AZ and was forced. The first signs suggest that he will not play against his former club.
Cristian Romero and Micky Van de Ven have traveled with the team in Alkmaar but did not take on the field. The pair could be envisaged on Sunday, but departures seem unlikely. Ben Davies and Radu Dragusin also came out.
Richarlison is getting closer to a return, while Dejan Kulusvski came out until the international break with an injury to the foot.
Tottenham predicted the programming against Bournemouth (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, gray, danso, Spence; Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison; Odobert, Tel, son.
Evanilson was back among the goals after his return to Bournemouth’s departure training last week against Wolves. Dango Ouattara played admirably in the absence of the attacker, but the replacement of Solanke should get the head sign on Sunday.
UNAL ENES was released for the long term after tearing his ACL, and the cherries are again without the suspended illia zabarnyi. With Marcos Senesi not yet ready to come back, Lewis Cook will continue in defense.
Adam Smith remains a doubt.
Bournemouth predicted the programming against Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Kepa; Cook, Hill, Huijsen, Kerkez; Adams, Christie; Tavernier, Kluivert, Semenyo; Evanilson.
The momentum of the Spurs stopped by Manchester City the last time in the Premier League, and their lifeless display in the middle of the week does not hold them exactly in good place for the match on Sunday.
Bournemouth is supreme pressors, and they will have joy against an accumulation of spurs which seems more confused with each passing game. Hosts must be direct on Sunday.
The cherries have struck a few stumbling blocks in recent weeks and they may well fade in the section given the demanding principles of Andoni Iraoloa. They will have enough on Sunday to disturb the Spurs, that’s for sure, but expect the competition to be rather chaotic and devoid of control. This could go in both directions, so an entertaining score print should keep everyone satisfied.
