The co-founder of Reddit and investor Alexis Ohanian joined the offer of the billionaire Frank McCourt To acquire Tiktok as a strategic advisor specializing in social media, reports Reuters.
“He has this large experience portfolio … from the place where social media was and, I think, an in -depth understanding of the place where it evolves,” McCourt told Reuters. “Where it can help mainly, it is validating but socializing what we do.”
The defense group of McCourt’s internet defenders, Project Liberty, organized a consortium called the people’s attempt to buy the American active workers from Tiktok. In January, Project Liberty officially submitted a proposal to acquire the application on social networks, detailing the plans to allow users to control how their data is used and stored.
The other interested parties to buy Tiktok include a group of investors led by the technological entrepreneur Jesse Tinsley. Additional potential buyers include Microsoft, Oracle, Perplexity AI and the former CEO of Activision Bobby Kotick.
Tiktok was briefly descended in mid-January, but was restored once President Donald Trump is committed to relaunching the application. After taking up his duties, Trump signed an executive decree to extend the deadline for the 75 -day Tiktok prohibition.
