Panasonic Arc 5 Palm Shaver Review: Japanese steel

That said, performance is always admirable compared to most travel razors, provided you don’t let your hair develop for too long. Like many aluminum paper razors, the Arc 5 does not like to cut the hair longer than a few millimeters. The shaving of longer mustaches takes a large number of passes – and will almost certainly cause some painful hair handles. Arc 5 is a clean and clean razor for those who are already neat and clean.

Arc 5 is not a detailed razor either. It is an apparatus without attachment that does what it does: it largely conforms to a large surface of your face and your neck. If you are someone with a beard line or a geometry closely maintained on your favorites or mustache, this razor will not serve you as a daily driver without a distinct cup of retail.

But the lack of edges of the razor can also be virtue. The Arc 5 Palm is so wide, so without any wire, so spongy in its shaving, that I feel comfortable using it in the shower without a mirror. (If you are the kind of person who keeps a mirror in the shower, no offense, but I don’t understand.) Heck, I think I could even feel good while shaving myself while walking.

But now we are in a loop for the reasons why I still like the Palm White Arc 5, despite its narrow use case and its intermediate shave and its high price. I appreciate what it does in my hand. Pleasure is a disappeared quality among the razors.

“Nagori”, the name of the new material of Mitsui Chemicals which provides a biological texture of ARC 5, is the kind of word that people often like to call intraduisible. Nagori refers to a kind of instant nostalgia, the genre you might feel for a season when it spends or the last course of a meal. It derives from an old Japanese sentence, “the remains of the waves”, referring to the shells and the tracks left behind when the tide returns from where it comes from.

The name of this material almost certainly derives from minerals from the ocean which form the base. But he also describes the feeling that I felt when I removed the razor from his packaging: an implicable nostalgia for an object that is here in my hand. Over time, I know, this dull feeling. The slightly granular shell plastic of the Arc 5 will begin to seem a slightly more pleasant plastic.

But for the moment, I was able to have a little emotional experience with my travel razor. The question of whether this feeling is worth $ 300 is between you and your accountant.
