Barcelona would have refused the possibility of sign Joao Felix in the last stages of January transfer window.
Felix was made available by Chelsea only a few months after completing a permanent transfer of 45 million pounds Sterling to Stamford Bridge, following a previous loan in 2023.
The International of Portugal failed to order more than the sporadic minutes under Enzo Maresca and finally moved to AC Milan on loan to remove it from the inflated blues team.
But it was not only Milan who was offered an agreement. Spanish publication SPORT Written that Barcelona was presented with the option, apparently the initial choice of Felix after spending last season on loan with the Catalans.
This led Agent Jorge Mendes to contact the sports director Deco and President Joan Laporta, to be refused by the officials of Barcelona.
Barça was on the market for an attacker to stimulate the team, but it is said that someone who could work both as an attacker and a winger was the intention. It is said that Barça Hansi Flick coach would have been happy for Felix to join last summer or in January, although it was never considered a priority for the club.
There, of course, remains the possibility that Felix can still find a Barcelona player in the future. His loan with Milan only takes place until the end of the season and does not include a pre-arranged option to buy, so that any future agreement must be negotiated from zero.
Felix began his Milan fate with a goal from Coppa Italia off the bench against Roma last week, before starting Saturday’s victory against Empoli for its debut of Serie A.
