The manager of England, Thomas Tuchel, encouraged Marcus Rashford not to “fall back on the old routines” after his little beginning in life in Aston Villa.
Rashford moved to Villa Park at the end of the winter transfer window after a complete break in relation to Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese boss repeatedly criticized the work rate of his attacker and would not have been impressed by his out -of -farm.
After spending six weeks on the sidelines for United, Rashford started greatly for Aston Villa, making a prolific relationship with his colleague recruit of winter Marco Asensio. Tuchel was properly full of praise for the 27 -year -old player.
“With Marcus, he is a familiar face but a different situation,” said the international director entering assembled media. “I felt that he had a huge impact at Aston Villa, he had a huge impact on the bench mainly. The impact was impressive. The physical impact was impressive and above all, his work rate, his defensive capacity and his follow -up were impressive.
“I had the strong feeling that we should name it, bring it and push it to stay at this level so as not to fall on old routines,” added Tuchel. “This camp must push him to stay at this level.”
Rashford had fallen in the running for the national team long beforeMorim was appointed to United. Gareth Southgate presented before its 60th and the most recent ceiling in March 2024 for a friendly match against Brazil. Rashford was then neglected for the team who reached the final of Euro 2024 and did not figure through the interim mandate of Lee Carsley.
The Tuchel England contract only extends at the end of the 2026 World Cup which will be jointly organized by the United States, Canada and Mexico. As he clearly clarified, each selection is made with this tournament in mind and each player involved has a chance to present.
“All those who are with us on this trip and in this first camp is a competitor for the World Cup,” said Tuchel. “Each player is part of this first step. At the same time, this is only the first step, so the appointment is not the appointment for America.
“We have had difficult decisions to make and we did not facilitate for ourselves. We have waited for a very long time until the end of the Champions League games until we made our last decisions. It is important to be in the first camp and if you are in the first camp, you are in the first stage of the trip.”
