Liverpool defender Joe Gomez undergoes other tests as concerns develop on another potentially long injured spell.
Gomez only lasted ten minutes from the FA Cup of Liverpool tied up to the fourth round with Plymouth Argyle before sitting on the lawn. He was consoled by his teammates before leaving the field alongside the club’s physio.
The 27-year-old has undergone a series of injury problems during his career and had already missed 11 games from the 2024/25 season with a problem with ischiosum.
Athletics Note that tests are carried out to discover the severity of Gomez’s latest problem, but the club “ fear ” that it can be out of action for a considerable time. He could even require surgery, which could end his season depending on the amount of recovery and necessary rehabilitation time.
Gomez is the oldest player in Liverpool and previously trained a formidable partnership with Virgil Van Dijk at the center of defense. He was a key player in his first first League title victory, but missed more than 200 games in all competitions due to injuries – starting with a cross -ligament tear during the 2015/16 season.
The international in England of 15 plans has also undergone serious knee and ankle injuries, requiring surgery on the latter twice.
Gomez was linked to Liverpool’s distance last summer, with Arne Slot’s favorite partner for Van Dijk now Ibrahima Konate. The Dutchman also had Jarell Quansah at his disposal, while additional reinforcements were linked in various gossip columns.
